HAZARD ANALYSIS COMMITTEE
The goal of the Hazard Analysis Committee is to analyze the hazardous material reports submitted by local industry for the potential of a hazardous material incident. Also, it is the function of the Hazard Analysis Committee to work in conjunction with the Information Management Committee and the Planning, Exercise & Training Committee.

During 2007, the committee reviewed the 18 facilities that use, store, or manufacture hazardous chemicals. The committee contacted fire departments when they found chemicals that were in large amounts or usual. Since these reports are annual, the committee has a continual process to perform these risk assessments.

Another program that is continual is the Notification Consultation Program. This yearly project involves a personal consultation with the company in question, their local fire department, and a representative from CEPAC. The consultation affords local industry the opportunity to discuss their risk assessment with CEPAC.

A total of 23 consultations were performed for 2007.

Each year, to keep the regulated community award of the updated regulations, the Hazardous Analysis Committee holds two risk reduction seminars on current topics and subjects.

This committee is truly a "working committee" in that each of its members takes an active role in everything from reviewing extensive risk assessments to greeting seminar attendees.   Thanks to the dedication and support of the Hazard Analysis Committee members, much work is accomplished for CEPAC and its preparedness.
